Reservation & Payment
  • Booking Guarantee: A credit card is required to guarantee bookings.
  • Booking Deposit:
    Low Season: A nonrefundable online booking deposit equivalent to 25% of the first night’s stay is due upon confirmation.
    High Season: A 25% nonrefundable online booking deposit is due upon confirmation.
    Peak Season: A 50% nonrefundable online booking deposit is due upon confirmation for stays during peak season (Dec. 20-Jan. 5, and Jul. 1-Aug. 31).
  • Balance Due: Locally on check-in, or upon written cancellation of services, whichever comes first.
  • Payment Methods: 
    -Online Deposit: Visa/Mastercard credit card
    -Locally: Cash (USD/EUR). Please ensure you have the correct amount with you, as keys will not be released until full payment is received. A receipt will be provided for your cash payment.
    -Credit card payments, only accepted exceptionally, are processed in CAD by MacQueen’s Island Tours and, if approved, are subject to a 3% processing + 3% currency conversion fee over the xe.com neutral rate at the time of processing.
  • Currency: Prices on www.elmiradordemarbella.com are published in USD

El Mirador de Marbella’s seasonal cancellation policy fluctuates from flexible to strict to reflect demand and be fair to both their guests and their small business.

  • No-shows/Early departures: Guests who decide to leave early or do not show up are not entitled to a refund for the unused nights.
  • The cancellation policy in effect on the guest’s check-in date governs the entire reservation, regardless of the reservation’s length or whether it spans multiple seasonal settings.
  • Booking the “Entire Home” is available at a preferred rate compared to booking the rooms separately. The Entire Home option has a 2-night minimum booking requirement, subject to availability at the time of booking.

Discounts are available for consecutive stays of 7+ or 30+ nights.

  • Check-in: 3:00 PM (early arrival subject to availability; fees may apply).
  • Check-out: 11:00 AM (late check-out requires prior approval).
  • Key Collection: 
    All international guests must present government-issued identification documents upon arrival for registration, as required by Cuban tourism laws.

The property manager will verify IDs against the booking details before providing room access.

Late/After-Hours Arrivals:

For arrivals after 7:00 PM, El Mirador de Marbella reserves the right to apply a $20 USD late check-in fee.

  • Guests: Maximum room occupancy is 2 adults (names and government identification must be provided; only registered visitors accepted). For non-residents, passport presentation is required. For residents in Cuba, presentation of Cuban identify cards is required.
  • Security Deposit & Damage Protection

For all bookings, a security deposit is secured via a pre-authorization hold on your credit card. This is not a charge, but a temporary hold of funds to cover potential incidental damages, missing items, or if the property’s condition at checkout requires labor beyond the allocated cleaning window.

Process: Upon check-in, we will pre-authorize your credit card for $100 USD per bedroom, or $300 USD for the entire 3-bedroom villa. In the event of a declined credit card pre-authorization, a cash deposit will be required.

Timing: The hold is typically released by your bank within 5-10 business days after your departure, provided no claims are made.

Inspection: Guests are expected to leave the property in a similar state of cleanliness as they found it upon check-in. Additional fees apply only if the property requires remediation to return it to this standard for the next guest. The property will be inspected after check-out. You will be notified immediately of any issues.

Billing: Any charges for damages, violations (e.g., smoking fee), or excessive cleaning beyond normal wear and tear will be deducted from this pre-authorization. Damaged or missing items will be charged according to full replacement value. You will receive a detailed receipt.

By completing check-in, you acknowledge and consent to this pre-authorization and agree to assume financial responsibility for the integrity or the room/home’s contents while under your care.

  • Noise: Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
  • Smoking: Consumption of tobacco products is allowed only in designated outdoor areas.
  • Pets: Not permitted.
  • Children: Not permitted.
  • Pool/Property: Guests assume liability for damages, loss or injuries.
  • Security Deposit: A $200–500 hold (or cash deposit) may be required for incidentals, released after key return & check-out room inspection.
  • Damages: Guests must report accidents immediately. Unreported damage may be charged at replacement cost.
  • The property is not liable for:
    • Utility outages (e.g., water/power interruptions common in Cuba).
    • Changes to local amenities (e.g., restaurant closures, experience providers, etc.).
    • Theft, injury, or accidents on-site.
  • No refunds for events beyond our control (e.g., hurricanes, political unrest), but we’ll do our best to offer rescheduling or credit valid for a future stay within 12 months.
  • Travel Insurance:
    We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances that may lead to cancellation.
  • Tourist Cards/Visas: Guests are responsible for entry requirements.
  • Local Laws: Respect Cuban laws (e.g., no unregistered guests, no drone use without local permits, zero tolerance drug use policy).
  • Any disputes will be resolved under Cuban law in Havana courts.
  • Excursions
  • Service Fees: End of stay cleaning fee included. Optional daily cleaning service ($10 USD/day per room #s 1 or 2, $20 USD/day room #3 including inside kitchen/living).
